The reason why curtains are so expensive is for the fact that you do have to hang curtains in all the windows of your home. It can get very expensive. The key reason you need to budget and work a room at a time is so that you can get a little here and there, since it is such a big cost. There are a lot of people who will get the blinds first because they are so cheap, and then work on getting the best curtains later. You will also want to consider making your own curtains. There is a lot to be said for those who shop at discount stores, because it is the curtains that make a difference in a home, and these discount stores sell tons of curtains and curtain accessories.

First, when it comes to curtains versus blinds, you will find that you can get a pair of blinds for five or ten dollars. You will be able to protect your privacy while trying to protect your own interest in the décor of the room or home. You will also notice that the curtains will be a lot more expensive then the blinds because you need the panels, you may want a sheer behind the solid panels, and then you may want to get dramatic and use valances and swags.  

Secondly, you will need to consider shopping at discount stores. You will be able to find some very nice curtains to keep your budget going well. You will also notice that your colors and shades will be very limited when it comes to shopping at the discount stores. Keep in mind that those on the discount rack happens to be whatever that was left over or that they couldn’t sell. You will want to make sure that you do everything you can to keep your privacy and your budget. You may end up changing your mind on the curtains if you see what full priced curtains are going to cost you.

Thirdly, if you would really like to keep your curtains you will want to think about what you need to have right away. Blinds work as a cheap substitute. You will also find that if you make your own curtains, you will be able to make a difference in the price of things. You will be able to get a cheap length of fabric and then you can make the curtains everything that you need them to be by simply using some thread. You will find that there is a lot to gain when you make your own curtains and you will be able to save a little bit of money.

Curtains are very important to the décor of your home and also to the privacy of your home.
